Artistic Research Project: Group Examination of Public Space, Aa Collections, Vienna, 2017

An intensive examination of a disused elevated railway system – namely, the former U6 metro connection between Spittelau and Heiligenstadt – formed the basis of a group exhibition segment at Aa Collections. This railway system consists of an upper part, made mainly of rails and sleepers, and a lower part, the latter being the elevated track foundation. Nowadays, only the foundational arch structure and the track ballast on top remain, all the rest having been stripped away.
In my work, I’ve rearranged the gravel of a one-metre broad strip of the balast bed according to its discolouration.
